During the 1930s, Kähler operated in the transitional space between Art Deco and early Functionalism, combining restrained, sculptural forms with decorative surface treatments and experimental glazes. Stoneware vases from this period are typically characterized by organic shapes, incised ornamentation, and warm, nuanced glaze tones, reflecting both high craftsmanship and a strong emphasis on material aesthetics.
