Murano glass is world-famous Italian mouth-blown glass from the island of Murano near Venice, known for its long tradition of innovation and artistic quality. A special technique Murano is renowned for is Sommerso, where layers of colored glass are slowly fused together to create depth and intense color effects within the glass. Sommerso means "submerged" in Italian and is characterized by clear, transparent color layers, often in contrasting hues, giving a unique and elegant appearance.
