Murano, sommerso glass bowl.

Murano, sommerso glass bowl. Organic-shaped bowl in mouth-blown art glass using the layered sommerso technique. Clear glass with encased blue and pink colour fields, creating depth and a distinctive floating play of colour. Typical Murano work from the 1960s/70s with soft, sculptural lines. Origin: Italy, Murano. Material: Art glass. Dimensions: L. 15 cm, H. 8 cm. Period: Approx. 1960s/70s. Condition: Excellent condition with minor signs of wear. Bio: In the mid-20th century, Murano was an international centre for art glass, where workshops advanced techniques that combined craftsmanship with modernist form. The sommerso method—encasing coloured layers within clear glass—created striking optical depth and became a hallmark of the period’s experimental aesthetic.
