Søren Kongstrand (1872-1951) Denmark Vase in luster glaze by Søren Kongstrand. Signed illegible. Measures 13,5 cm. x 13 cm. In perfect condition. Søren Kongstrand was an autodidact potter. SK was a magician who worked with a material he sometimes found difficult to tame, but perhaps therefore resulting in works that exudes a particular strength. It was a goal for SK to get the glaze to resemble nature's strength, eg. rime frost, gull eggs and the like. Kongstrand was especially famous for his luster glazes.
