Large Swedish kilim carpet, circa 1970s. Handwoven kilim carpet in pure wool with a detailed striped pattern in blue, grey, cream and beige tones. The composition consists of alternating broad and narrow vertical bands with varied geometric details, creating a calm and rhythmic expression. Origin: Sweden. Material: Pure wool. Dimensions: L. 300 cm including fringes, W. 210 cm. Period: Circa 1970s. Condition: Excellent condition with minor signs of wear. Bio: Swedish kilim carpets of the 1970s combined the traditional flat-weaving technique with the Scandinavian design language of the period. Pure wool, geometric patterns and balanced colour combinations were characteristic elements, while striped compositions were used to create a simple and rhythmic effect in larger carpet formats.
