The model is executed in the Bohemian tradition with faceted stems and richly decorated bowls. Origin: Germany. Manufacturer: Theresienthal. Material: Crystal glass and 24-karat gold. Bio: Theresienthal was founded in 1836 near Zwiesel in Bavaria by Bohemian-born glass merchant Franz Steigerwald. The glassworks was named after Queen Therese, wife of King Ludwig I of Bavaria. Theresienthal became renowned for luxurious handcrafted crystal and historically supplied glassware to the Bavarian royal household and other European courts. Its production is characterised by traditional techniques including mouth-blowing, cutting, engraving and hand-gilding.
