With original side handles and lid. Origin: Sweden, Upsala-Ekeby / Gefle. Designer: Studio ceramicist. Material: Faience. Dimensions: H. 12 cm, D. 20 cm. Period: 1960s. Condition: Excellent condition with light signs of wear. Bio: Upsala-Ekeby was one of Sweden’s leading ceramic manufacturers from the early 1900s, particularly renowned for its artistic and decorative faience during the mid-century era. The company acquired Gefle in the 1930s, and from the 1950s to 70s became a hub for modern Scandinavian design with artists such as Mari Simmulson, Ingrid Atterberg and Hjördis Oldfors. The “Pang” series is a fine example of the vibrant and playful aesthetic of this period.
